Find Your .com

- .com ₹1299/y
- .in ₹899/y
- .net ₹1699/y
- .co.in ₹799/y

The .com extension is the gold standard of the internet. It's what your customers type by default, what they remember easily, and what instantly tells the world you mean business.
Whether you're starting a quirky blog, launching a startup in Bengaluru, or selling handmade crafts, a .com gives you instant credibility. Don't let your brilliant idea be stuck behind a confusing extension. Get the .com.
When someone hears your business name and types it into a browser, they type .com first. When a customer checks whether you are real, they look at the extension before they look at the design. When an investor, a partner, or a hiring manager searches for you, .com is the version they assume exists.
That assumption is the entire value of the extension. It is also why the best names are taken, why premium names cost more, and why the registration process has more fine print than a .in purchase. This page covers the fine print (price, GST, WHOIS privacy, DNS, registrant rights, and the expensive mistakes that happen after purchase) before you pay.

₹1,299 / year
Prices exclude 18% GST on Indian invoices.
Most first-time buyers only check whether the name is available. Check these too.
A ₹1,299 headline becomes ₹1,533 with GST. Budget for the invoice.
Without it, your name, phone, and address are public on the internet permanently.
The registrant contact is the legal owner. A reseller holding the domain in its own name can create a dispute later.
You need to point the domain to your hosting, email, or a CDN without raising a ticket.
Missing an expiry email can cost thousands to recover. Ask before you buy, not after.
If you ever want to leave, you need the domain unlocked and an auth code. Confirm both are self-service.
Registration is immediate. DNS propagation takes anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours depending on TTL and resolver caching.
Use the SowfiHost domain search. You will see availability and the price for the extension you selected. If the .com is taken, the search will show alternatives: .co, .in, .net, etc.
A .com can be registered for between one and ten years. A single year is the lowest-risk entry point; a longer term locks the name for longer but commits more capital upfront. If you are testing a brand, start with one year.
On SowfiHost, this is free for supported TLDs: your personal details are replaced in the public WHOIS record by a privacy service. For a business owner this is not optional. Without it, your home address and mobile number are scraped by spammers within days.
SowfiHost bills in rupees. Indian businesses can enter a GSTIN to receive a GST-compliant invoice for accounting. Confirm the GST treatment on the invoice before paying.
ICANN requires registrars to verify the registrant email address within 15 days of registration. If you do not click the verification link, the domain can be suspended. Use an email address you actually monitor.
If you are hosting with SowfiHost, the nameservers are set automatically. If you are hosting elsewhere, change the nameservers in the client area to your host's values, or use SowfiHost's DNS management to point A and CNAME records at your server.
This is the step most buyers skip. Run a WHOIS lookup on your new domain and confirm the registrant organisation and email are yours, not the registrar's or a reseller's. That record is your legal claim to the name.
A .com is a generic top-level domain governed by ICANN. It does not require KYC documents from Indian buyers. You do not need PAN, Aadhaar, GST certificate, or a company incorporation certificate to register a .com as an individual or a business.
This is the single biggest practical difference from a .in or .co.in. NIXI, the registry for Indian country-code domains, requires accurate registrant data and documentation for .in, and it prohibits privacy and proxy services on .in domains. A .com has none of those restrictions.
A .in may be required for certain local compliance or government-facing use cases. If you are building a brand that may operate outside India, .com is the simpler asset to hold.
The public WHOIS record is permanent, searchable, and scraped continuously by marketers, spammers, and fraudsters.
With privacy on, you remain the legal registrant. You can still prove ownership through your client area and through the registrar's records. The privacy service forwards legitimate legal or business enquiries to you without exposing your contact details.
The domain's nameservers, creation date, expiry date, and registrar are never hidden; those are public by ICANN policy. If you want your company name visible in WHOIS as a trust signal, you can disable privacy. For most Indian buyers (sole proprietors, freelancers, small businesses operating from a residential address) privacy should stay on.

A domain is not a website. Registering a .com gives you the name; hosting gives you the server; DNS connects the two.
If you host with SowfiHost, the nameservers are configured during checkout, and your website and email records are created in the same account. You do not touch DNS unless you want to.
If you host elsewhere, you can change the nameservers to your host's, which hands DNS control to your host, or keep DNS at SowfiHost and point records at your server. Keeping DNS at SowfiHost is the better choice if you use a separate email provider, a CDN, or multiple services.
SowfiHost's DNS management is free and included with the domain. You are not charged per record or per zone change.

International registrars bill in USD, which means your card issuer applies a conversion rate and often a foreign exchange fee of an additional 2 to 3.5%. A ₹1,299 domain can quietly become about ₹1,400 on your statement.
Enter your GSTIN at checkout to receive a GST-compliant invoice. If you register domains for clients, keep the invoice in the client's name and GSTIN so they can claim input credit. Registering in your own name and re-billing later creates a mismatch that accountants dislike.
No GSTIN is required. The invoice is still generated and downloadable from the client area.
This is the part of domain ownership that is easiest to ignore and most expensive to get wrong.
It does not disappear immediately.
The registrar can still restore it at the normal cost.
Restoration carries a substantial fee. Published Indian restoration fees for a .com range from roughly ₹8,000 to ₹13,000, excluding GST and one year, depending on the registrar.
The domain is released and anyone can register it.
What this means in practice
If you already own a .com and want to consolidate it with your hosting, the transfer process is straightforward and your website stays live throughout.
Request the EPP/auth code from your current registrar (usually under a transfer or security tab) and enter it on the SowfiHost transfer page. You pay the transfer fee of ₹1,299, which adds one year to your registration term. SowfiHost initiates the transfer, your current registrar may send a confirmation email, and the process typically completes in 5-7 business days. Keep your current nameservers unchanged during the transfer so your website and email keep working.
Why transfer at all: consolidating domains and hosting under one provider simplifies billing, DNS, and support. One invoice, one GST document, and one place to manage expiry dates, which reduces the risk of a lapsed domain.
Transfer a DomainIf the domain is in the redemption period or already scheduled for deletion, it cannot be transferred. Restore it at the current registrar first, then transfer.
Launching a business, brand, or product that needs the default trust signal of a .com
An Indian business that wants INR billing and a GST invoice rather than a USD charge and a foreign exchange fee
A founder who wants free WHOIS privacy without paying an annual add-on
An agency or freelancer registering domains on behalf of clients and consolidating them with hosting
Moving an existing .com to a provider that includes free DNS management
Someone who wants to register the domain now and decide on hosting later; there is no requirement to buy hosting with the domain
